Roparosa A/W '11 - AFW

Local Amsterdam fashion label, Roparosa has produced an incredibly unque, innovative and fashion forward A/W collection this year.

The collection includes some really beautiful natural fabrics teamed with unusual shapes, patterns and seamlines.  Designer of the label, Roos Van der Kamp (winner of the second Dutch Project Runway) has produced a stunning follow up collection (Come As you Are) to her S/S debut collection (Come out and Play).

She has used many different techniques in her construction of the garments including, rouching, gathering and knitting.  The collection is so interestingly constructed not only in the choice of seaming but also in fabric.  The choice to combine beautiful sheers, with dark block colours & metallics works so well for this A/W collection.

The choice of colours was again unique with the use of common autumn colours such as burgundy, browns and blacks.  But this was lightened up with splashes of pale blue and orange.

Roos uses lines and geometrics as a key focus of her collection.  According to fashionising.com:
Roos drew inspiration from star shaped patterns letting the lines begin in the middle of the body.  "This effect shows how someone can shine when that person is feeling good"  she says.
