Copenhagen Fashion Week 2011

Every February and August, Copenhagen is host to Northern Europe's largest fashion event, Copenhagen Fashion Week. On the catwalks are a growing number of new and known Danish talent with a preview of their upcoming collections. And at the four trade fairs, CPH Vision, Terminal-2, Gallery and Copenhagen International Fashion Fair, you will find an additional 1,100 exhibitors representing a total of over 2,300 international brand name collections.

Danish fashion is known for its unique angle on design, innovation and aesthetics. With a more modern approach to femininity and functionality, expressed in fresh silhouettes, a focus on details and incomparable quality. These are only some of the reasons why more than 60,000 buyers, designers and global press attend Copenhagen Fashion Week twice a year.

Honey.Pie will continue to post the latest shows and what we believe to be the stand out shows of the week.

Enjoy!

As the main sponsor of Copenhagen Fashion Week, Kopenhagen Fur was asked to open the week with an exclusive show.  The Kopenhagen studios asked nine international designers (that the company had worked with before) and asked them to create their interpretation of the future of fur in fashion.

As a designer, I am graphic and geometric-based. I am thinking in lines. intensely appearing in my design scope each time a new collection takes shape.

The world of math is strangely uneven but at the same time, true in a skewed balance very useful in the design process. I combine the two opposites and an explosion takes place. It generates the dynamics of energy. And the momentum is the nerve that creates the life of each individual collection. The rhythm based on, creation, erosion, cleansing, restoration and ultimately balance. Explosure can be powerful and expressive but also cool and discrete, but you know when its there – you feel it!
