A new year, a new beginning, a new hair do!

The new year is approaching, and new years resolutions are starting to occupy peoples minds.  Ideas such as exercising more, giving up chocolate, joining the gym, working less etc are all the normal ideas that go through our heads but what if instead of planning ahead we just jumped straight into the new year with a bang!

I've decided that i am going to drastically change my hair at the end of the year as a way of starting off the new year fresh and completely different, rather than planning, putting off and eventually the year is over and i'm planning the same things.  I don't know if this will effect the rest of my life but i think it will be refreshing.  So with that in mind i have decided to look through some of the drastic hair changes that have happened in the fashion industry of late and also look at some cool trends which will be passing into next year in the hair department.

The Banging Bob

The obvious hair make-over of 2010 is Abbey-Lee Kershaw who made the drastic change of white blonde and then the banging, fringed bob.

I love both hairstyles!! She looks amazing with both.
I'm thinking for my own hair a fringed bob but less structured a more layered??

Kiera Knightley also rocked the bob recently.  A little shorter and more sleek and i think it looks amazing.

Platinum
Another hair trend making its way into 2011 is the white blonde hair which was popular also in 2010.
Platinum Blonde is definitely a good way to stand out but i believe it only suits a certain group of people.  Perhaps if you decide to go from a dark shade to platinum blonde ease into to it with highlights before going the full monty (this will also be better for your hair as well )

As well as Abbey-Lee, model, Siri Tollerod pulls platinum blonde off well!

Another hair trend:
The Redhead

The redhead we all think of is the beautiful Lily Cole with her amazing blue eyes:

Fashioninsing.com gives some hints as to who is suited to this ginger goddess trend:

Red hair is to the cooler months what blonde hair is to Spring. This is particularly true of darker auburn tones, or lighter reds against pale skin.
The pale redhead
Pale porcelain skin will almost always work a treat with red hair - particularly if your eyes are green or blue. This is a great Winter look.

The freckled redhead
For Spring 2010 girls with freckles and bronzed skin are the perfect neo-redheads. Go for lighter reds like natural gingers and neutral-tone coppers.

The fair browed
A perfect match to the bleached blonde eybrows trend, both pale and bronzed skinned redheads should consider lightening their brows. This not only adds to the natural-born redhead effect, but also brings the look well and truly into 2010.

Another beauty who looks amazing with red hair is Julia Hafstrom (obsiously a natural redhead)

Karen Gillan

Caroline Trentini steps away from her usual blonde locks and embraces the ginger look

Or perhaps you would prefer a more vibrant red, similar to that of Bryce Dallas Howard:

Or even brighter yet!  Like Tiah Eckhardt:

Its not just about colour, but also cut.  Combine the fringe with the colour??
A more muted red tinge with a sexy fringe looks amazing:
