editorial #5 - SASHA PIVOVAROVA & GUINEVERE VAN SEENUS BY PAOLO ROVERSI FOR VOGUE ITALIA APRIL 2010

SASHA PIVOVAROVA & GUINEVERE VAN SEENUS BY PAOLO ROVERSI FOR VOGUE ITALIA APRIL 2010

If you love the trend white-on-white or just love an editorial with a whimsical, fairytale essence to it then this editorial, A White Story will appeal to you.

This editorial was published in Vogue Italia (of course - amazing) in April this year (2010).  I hadn't actually seen it until recently and have fallen in love with it.  I really love fairytale esq photographs.

The flour on the floor and the very fluid yet sophisticated poses by Sasha and Guinevere remind me of a ballet studio.  The wooden floors and the white curtains add to this Swan Lake image.

And of course, being an ediorial in Italia Vogue, the images are very theatrical.  Not only are the models posing to show off the clothes there is another story being told in their movements and the way they hold themselves.  This photograph is absolutely stunning.

Another photograp i love in this ed, is this one.  The close up of her face is at a great point after seeing such static and elegant poses.  The flour on her head just adds that much more the photo.  She has such a tranquil facial expression.  Its stunning.

(above) looks like an old photograph.  So beautiful.

I absolutely adore this editorial.  It is so beautiful and not only shows off the clothes in an elegant way it creates a mood and softness.  Let me know what you guys think...

  1. Katie!

I find that there is something eerie and ghostly about this editorial. Look at the expressions on the models faces! Glaring deep into the camera.
But of course this is tame compared to what Paolo Roversi has been known to achieve. Have a quick look at this gallery.
