This post covered the pretty, girly and soft lace and patterns of the lingerie trend.
However, the lingerie trend has also influenced the combined theatrical look of haute couture and high-tech which are emerging in the fashion shows for spring/summer 2010/11.
Jean-Paul Gaultier is an amazing example, and forerunner of this trend:
The trend has seen elements of the bondage and fetish trends which were shown in the 2009 spring/summer fashion shows.

The trend also exhibits bold prints & graphics, theatrical surface textures and contrasts of weighted fabrics including opaques and transparent fabrics. The trend is very luxurious and is also for that of a creative looking to try something new and fresh, it plays with bold and new silhouettes as well as unusually pairing of fabrics.
